Leather boots take a beating, especially in the winter. Salt, water, dirt and sun all go to wear and deteriorate your boots. Leather Mate will clean, condition, protect and polish your leather boots. When you get a new pair of leather boots make sure that you condition them with LeatherMate right away. This will help them last longer and stay moist and supple. Leather Mate will also help to prevent salt damage to your boots. Use a color for your darker boots particularly if your boots already are scuffed. You can use a neutral but the colors on the LeatherMate will help to enrich the natural color of the leather. There is very little pigment in the product so it is not actually changing the color but enhancing it.
For softer leather - although I wouldn't advise wearing softer leather outside in the winter in somewhere like Toronto or Montreal. In those in between times for softer leather use Tenderly. Tenderly contains mostly lanolin so will keep your softer leather boots that way. You can use Leather Mate to protect but apply some Tenderly afterwards as although Urad is good for even these leathers, it may stiffen up. You could do the same for a softer leather coat or pair of shoes.
Leather Mate dries extremely quickly so will not stain your clothes once applied. You can use them within seconds. Be sure to use very little of the product. To ensure proper use please read our section on the application of LeatherMate.
