Cleaning and Conditioning Motorcycle Leathers

URAD is one of the best products for your motorcycle gear. It will clean and condition leather seats, chaps, jackets and leather boots and gloves.

Lanolin and carnauba wax are the main ingredients of URAD with a few mineral salts to help with cleaning. Lanolin oil is one of the best oils for conditioning leather. Carnauba wax will waterproof your motorcycle trousers and all your motorcycle wear.

URAD will not end up sticky or slippery. It goes into the leather not on the leather. Applied once every two weeks it will keep your boots, jackets and chaps waterproof. Use it to clean stains and bugs off your chaps and leather jacket.

It is easy to apply takes a couple of minutes at most for a pair of leather boots. One jar can clean and conditoin as many as 2-300 pair of boots or shoes.

We carry a neutral, black and brown. Even only applying the neutral, the lanolin brings out the color by getting the moisture back in the leather. You will find URAD at a lot of motorcycle shows. We sell largely black at these shows because most motorcycle leathers are black. There is very little pigment but enough to help add where there is extreme fading.

URAD will help recondition a leather jacket and keep the leather supple so it does not crack at stress areas like the inside of elbows and areas of wear like cuffs and collar.

Use a very small amount of URAD. Scoop a small amount out of the jar with the sponge supplied. Wipe off any that is left on the surface of the sponge. You want to use only what is left IN the sponge. If you use too much the URAD will take much too long to dry. It will remain sticky. If there are streaks in the leather after applying or it is sticky then you are using too much. The simplest thing to do in this case is to wipe it off with a cloth and hot water. Let the leather dry and then try again.

Apply to the stitching when the sponge is almost dry of URAD. It takes longer to dry here so you do not want as much.

If you have dead bugs on your leather pants and boots or jacket, use a small amount and work it in gently - as the sponge gets drier it will scour a bit better and help better. Don't scrub too hard - you don't want to work the stains into the leather.

URAD is non toxic. It is composed of natural ingredients.

At the top of the page you will see the 'LeatherMate Disclaimer'. If you have used Leather Mate in the past, please read this disclaimer.

Most of your leather motorcycle wear can be treated once or twice a year. It all depends on use. If you are riding a lot in the rain, then you can apply URAD every couple of weeks to keep your leather waterproof.

If you want you can also mix some Tenderly with the URAD. Generally made for softer leathers, Tenderly will soften and help URAD absorb better. If your leather chaps are softer leather and you don't want the URAD to stiffen then, try mixing them 50/50.
