How to Polish Leather Boots and Shoes
Get a Shoe Shine without a Polish
Most leather polish will dry out your leather. And black shoe polish is notorious for getting on clothing. It stains. Urad is not exactly a shoe polish but it will do a better job. It will clean leather boots and shoes, condition them and shine boots as I said without a polish. If waterproofing your leather boots or shoes is your goal then it will do that too.
Leather polish has alcohol and other chemicals that dry the leather. Urad is composed of natural ingredients: Carnuba wax and lanolin. When you shine shoes with a polish it sits on top of the leather. That is why it stains and you have to redo your shoes or boots every day. Urad goes right into the leather and puts the moisture back so even when you use the neutral (no color) it will bring back the color of your leather. In a few seconds you will see the fullness of color coming back.
Urad only need be applied every week or two in the winter. Too often will create a build up of wax. Between times your shoes or boots can have the shine brought back with a damp cloth.
Some people have a certain regime they go through to shine boots or shoes and it can easily take 20-30 minutes if you are going for a 'spit shine'. Urad takes only seconds and most of the time gives a better result.
One step cleans, conditions, protects and shines!!
Don't use Urad on your Nubuck or Suede. Tenderly has been designed for these as well as softer leathers.
